Family Health Conference and Annual Wellness Walk

The local chapter is committed to improving the health and wellness of those we serve.  Our annual coordination and participation in community health events, such as the Family Health Conference, provides free health services to the public while providing the community with information on various health care and mental issues. Our chapter also hosts an Annual Wellness Walk, in which we have partnered with the Canton-Madison Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. for the past two years. The free event includes an approximate 2.5-mile walk, starting from Rogers Park, around the Canton, MS community. Our goal for the event is to promote awareness of health issues that impact Mississippians and encourage the community to take part in healthy living activities.  The 2011 event, which included over 60 individuals of all ages, was also coordinated to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We encourage you to join us each Fall as we walk, run, and ride through the community to increase attention to mental and physical health concerns.  A long-term goal of our chapter is to enlighten and improve health statistics for the residents of our county.
